About Red Light Therapy
What is red light therapy?
Red light therapy (also called photobiomodulation or low-level light therapy) uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support cellular function. When these wavelengths penetrate your skin, they're absorbed by mitochondria — the powerhouses of your cells — which can boost energy production and support your body's natural processes.
Does red light therapy actually work?
Yes. Red light therapy has been studied for decades, with thousands of peer-reviewed papers documenting its effects. NASA used it for wound healing research. It's widely used in clinical settings for skin rejuvenation, muscle recovery, and more. We don't make medical claims, but the science behind photobiomodulation is well-established.
What are the benefits of red light therapy?
Research suggests red light therapy may support:

Is red light therapy safe?
Yes, when used as directed. Red light therapy is non-invasive and doesn't use UV light (which causes skin damage). Our devices use medical-grade LEDs at therapeutic wavelengths. That said, avoid shining light directly into your eyes, and consult a doctor if you have photosensitivity conditions or are taking photosensitising medications.
How long until I see results?
Most users report:
- Week 1–2: Skin feels softer, more hydrated
- Week 4: Visible improvement in tone and texture
- Week 8+: More noticeable changes in firmness and fine lines
Results depend on consistency, your skin/body, and which device you're using. We recommend 10–15 minute sessions, 3–5 times per week.
Can I use red light therapy every day?
Yes. Daily use is safe and may accelerate results. However, 3–5 sessions per week is sufficient for most people. Listen to your body — there's no benefit to overdoing it.

What wavelengths do your devices use?
Our devices use clinically-studied wavelengths:
- 660nm (red) — penetrates the surface layers of skin, supports collagen and skin health
- 850nm (near-infrared) — penetrates deeper into tissue, supports muscle recovery and circulation
Some devices also include:
- 460nm (blue) — targets acne-causing bacteria
- 590nm (amber) — supports skin brightening and pigmentation

Are your devices medical-grade?
Our devices use medical-grade LEDs delivering therapeutic wavelengths. However, they are wellness devices, not medical devices. We don't claim to treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you have a medical condition, consult your doctor before use.
How do I use the Face & Neck Mask?
- Cleanse your face (remove makeup, dirt, oils)
- Put on the mask and adjust for comfort
- Select your mode (Calm, Brighten, Rejuvenate, or Tighten)
- Relax for 10 minutes (auto-shutoff)
- Use 3–5 times per week for best results
No skincare products needed during use — apply serums after if desired.
Can I use red light therapy with skincare products?
You can, but it's not necessary. Some people apply serums or creams after their session to take advantage of increased absorption. Avoid anything with photosensitising ingredients (like retinol) immediately before sessions.

Where do you ship?
We currently ship throughout the United Kingdom. Free standard shipping on all orders.
How long does delivery take?
- Standard delivery: 2–4 business days
- Express delivery: 1–2 business days (if available at checkout)
Orders placed before 2pm on weekdays are usually dispatched same day.
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with tracking information. You can also log into your account on our website to view order status.
Do you ship internationally?
Not currently. We're focused on the UK market but may expand in the future. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified.
Returns & Warranty
What's your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, return it within 30 days for a full refund. Items must be in original condition with packaging.

What does your warranty cover?
All devices come with a 1-year warranty (1 year for the Spot and Pulse Band). This covers manufacturing defects and malfunctions under normal use. It doesn't cover damage from misuse, accidents, or normal wear and tear.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Email us at hello@lumovex.co.uk with:
- Your order number
- Description of the issue
- Photos/videos if helpful
We'll troubleshoot with you and arrange a replacement if needed.

Troubleshooting
My device won't turn on
- Ensure it's fully charged (if battery-powered) or plugged in
- Check the power button — some devices require a long press
- Try a different outlet or cable
- If still not working, contact support
The lights seem dim
LEDs are designed for therapeutic output, not brightness. If you can see the lights working, they're delivering the wavelengths. Very dim or flickering lights may indicate a defect — contact support.
How do I clean my device?
- Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth
- Don't submerge in water
- Don't use harsh chemicals or abrasives
- Allow to dry before storing
Can I travel with my device?
Yes! Our portable devices (Spot, Glow Wand, Mini Panel) are travel-friendly. Rechargeable devices can go in carry-on luggage. The Spot is particularly compact for travel.
